08 Jun Behind the Drive – Dennis’s Take on Carpooling
Dennis! Thanks for agreeing to be part of this interview.
Maybe you could start by telling us a little bit more about yourself?
I’m Dennis, 35 this year, married with 3 kids.
Where do you live? What are your commuting patterns in the week?
Boon Lay. I send my wife to NUH for work in the morning. Then I’ll head to Bugis. After work, I fetch my wife back at 6.30pm. That’s about it!
How did you know about RYDE? How did it change your life?
I knew RYDE through TV. Previously, I was unemployed due to company’s downsizing. During those times, I’ll offer RYDE trips as a means to defray some of my costs.
What was your most memorable carpooling experience?
Being able to offer affordable rides to people with disabilities and single mums supporting their children single handedly. Despite the low costs RYDE provides, I will further reduce the trip costs for them, just enough to cover my petrol expenses. By doing so, I felt I made a difference to their lives.
Would you support a Singapore start-up?
